1.) Make sure your kitty has a comfortable nook in the house to call their own, as cats are very territorial (especially when in a new space)
2.) Offer them a scratching post or toys they can use that can allow them to knead
3.) Consider buying a cat tree to provide an area to rest or climb
4.) Check for holes and damages around home to ensure safety
5.) Allow your new friend to come to you at their own pace, they're adjusting just like you
